Our class is named after the powerful lawyer and suffragist, Alice Paul. Alice Paul made a significant impact in US history for women. She was known for many things such as fighting for women's rights to vote and to be considered equal in the United States. She was put in prison repeatedly and was once painfully force-fed by tubes through her nose for almost a month because she waged hunger strikes. She did this tiring work for most of her life to get her point across, to get women's rights. It is appropriate that or class is named after Alice Paul because she was hardworking, persistent, and passionate which are qualities we want to have. Alice Paul was an American hero.
